To Whom It May Concern

Friends!  Readers!  Beat Down Junkies!  Lend me your computer screens!  I will be out of town with the FSM Peoria ministry trip from May 1-4th!  What does this mean?  It means I will not be posting from Thursday to Sunday of this week.  I know how disappointed all five of you must be… but just think… when I get back… testimonies!

The short version/synopsis of the trip is going to be that I will be at FSM at 1PM on Thursday, piling three or four other people in my car to join a caravan of some 50 vehicles making the 7-8 hour trek from Kansas City, Missouri to Peoria, Illinois.  During that time, we will have our student body (some 150-200 people… all 1st and 2nd year students, TCI, and assorted other IHOP staffers) split up into five different teams to minister to five different churches over the weekend, including a 24 hour prayer room, healing rooms, personal prayer rooms, evangelistic outreaches, and one very full weekend.  We “should” be back sometime between 11pm and Midnight on Sunday… slaphappy tired, and ready to pray for another six hours at the Global Prayer Room (IHOP-KC’s main prayer room) that night.  I will do my darndest to get another post up on Wednesday night so as to make the pause as short as possible, so stay tuned for more excitement and adventure in the wonderful world of The Beat Down.

  1. HAve a great trip – We’ll be praying for you guys!

  2. What?? a whole weekend without The Beat Down? Maybe all five of us should form a support group so we can help us through this time…

  3. Perhaps a quote about missions would be appropriate…

“Phase 1: impossible. Phase 2: difficult. Phase 3: done.”– J Hudson Taylor.

I am thinking up what I want to talk about on Wednesday, so if anybody has a topic they would like to see me rant about tomorrow, holla at the playa!

  4. I dunno, it’s been a while since you’ve offered an opinion of the prophet of global warming…

  5. How ’bout a list of all of the stuff you find when preparing to drive yourself and squad to a mission trip. Bet you discovered treasures galore with the point of your shovel…

  6. Hehe… Shovel? Try jackhammer…
